Waxahachie Real Estate
Waxahachie has a population of 21,850. Historic Waxahachie
has an amazing 20 percent of Texas buildings on the prestigious National
Register of Historic Places. During the annual Gingerbread Trail, the
first weekend in June, Waxahachie celebrates its architectural ancestry
with guided tours through manors and mansions built by the cotton barons
well over a century ago. Waxahachie also hosts one of the largest festivals
in Texas, Scarborough Faire, which is a Renaissance festival that runs
Memorial Day and weekends in April through June. You can also tour the
movie locations of Waxahachie, the most-photographed motion picture
setting in Texas. More than 30 major motion pictures and made-for-TV
movies have been filmed on the streets of the town and in the surrounding
countryside, including the Academy Award-winning, "Tender Mercies,"
"Places in the Heart," and "The Trip to Bountiful."
